God’s Church does not exist for itself. We have been created, reconciled, and purposed for something beyond us. Together, we must embrace the call God has given us as witnesses and partners in His mission to redeem the world.
Here at ROCKHARBOR, that means joining God in what He’s doing in our neighborhoods, communities, and cities. It means discovering the unique passions and talents created in us and using them them to showcase His love to the world around us.
We believe that following Jesus means to live for the sake of the world. Living out the Gospel always involves faith that is in motion. Our desire is to create a community of Christ-followers that carries the kingdom of God into it’s surrounding neighborhoods.
Our For the City team equips our church community to serve our neighbors within Indian Trail and throughout the greater Charlotte area.
“We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making His appeal through us.” – 2 Corinthians 5:20

Common Heart is a non-profit in the City of Indian Trail that desires to spread a “revolution of kindness” to neighbors in need. They do this by demonstrating practical examples of Christ’s love by providing groceries, friendship, affordable clothing and home goods; and connections to services around the area. Rather than function as a typical food pantry with pick-up locations; Common Heart encourages their volunteers to deliver groceries to those in need in order to foster connections and friendships that can develop into lasting relationships. In addition, Common Heart holds training sessions for those interested in learning more about the culture of poverty. Volunteers can assist in a variety of ways: by serving in the food cupboard or thrift store; assisting with grocery delivery; performing specialty skills around the business office, and many more. >>> www.Commonheart.org
Weekend Miracles is a new opportunity in Mecklenburg County to serve foster families and foster children in the Charlotte area. Through group social events, Weekend Miracles provides an environment that may lead to the development of long-term mentoring relationships between safe and loving adults with children in the foster care system. Volunteers will assist the Department of Social Services in hosting and chaperoning these events. Attending a training orientation is mandatory.
For Charlotte seeks to unite gospel-minded churches in the Charlotte area to increase upward mobility of its residence by tackling the problems of poverty, inadequate education, single family homes, segregation, and lack of social capitol. For Charlotte equips the local church to educate, empower, and awaken the universal church to the needs of the city, and answer the call to love and to serve those with the greatest needs. >>> www.forcharlotte.org
